Writing for the World Comic Book Review and Editorial Policy
The World Comic Book Review accepts original, previously unpublished submissions and pay for submissions which we publish. The quantum of payment is discretionary to the editor but will be offered to the writer of the submission prior to publication in our Review. Upon publication, an irrevocable, perpetual, exclusive, assignable license to use the copyright in the submission passes to the World Comic Book Review.
Submissions should be no less than 1200 words and no more than 5000 words, and relate to the field of comic books or the comic book industry (submissions relating to movies or other forms of media which incorporate characters sourced from comic books are not eligible for publication).
In respect of critiques of historic comic books (titles published more than a year ago), submissions will only be considered if they contain a novel perspective or analysis of the content or comic book writer’s body of work.
Submissions should follow The Economist Style Guide. We reserve without limitation the right to edit any submission for style. Published submissions must not be used for other academic assessment purposes.
The writer of any submission must warrant that the submission does not infringe any rights of any third party, including without limitation copyright and moral rights. The laws of Western Australia apply in respect of any contract between the writer of the submission and the World Comic Book Review.
